Trump Accounts

app4/56/5 for a gov app

6/5 for a gov app.

What I said.

  1. Very Robinhood-like. For a government app, that is a compliment.
  2. The QR code to contribute is one of the best features. No hunting for Social Security numbers.
  3. Multiple kids in one app, contribution remaining that updates as you type, recurring gifts, and a donor/Treasury source list are all well done.
  4. Education is actually useful. For a lot of people this will be their first stocks-and-retirement encounter.
  5. Defaulting to a one-month chart on a 15-year account is insane. It trains a short-term mindset.
  6. The projected-value calculator is buried. You cannot drag it, and it should be much clearer about what you can actually contribute.
  7. The investments tab should push index funds and put the education pie first so people do not try to pick stocks.
