Why it stays with me

When I first saw the trailer for Interstellar, I thought it was a documentary. It was weird because it was clearly space themed, but it was talking about the dust bowl.

When I actually saw it, I was stopped in my tracks. Literally. I stood in the parking lot with my brother for over an hour talking about the movie we had just seen.

Then I saw Interstellar after I had kids. Completely different movie.

Yes there is a bit of a circluar plot hole, yes it relies on hibernation tech that we haven't developed. I get it. But the movie sticks in your mind. Themes of family, love, sacrifice.

And the spoiler alert... tessaract library is still one of the best ways of visualizing a 4th dimension I have seen.
